“I have a 7-year-old boy. What should we do on our first visit to Disney World?”

Buzz and Woody CharactersThis is an impossible question to answer by someone who both A) does not know you or your child, and B) thinks that everything at Disney World is a must-do for a 7-year-old boy.

There is no easy way to answer this question posed by a reader.

The simple answer is to say, “If you have only one day, go to Magic Kingdom.” It’s the classic park with all of the classic rides and attractions. You’ll see all of the main characters in the afternoon parade, and if you go on the right day, you’ll get to see the night parade and fireworks. You’ll get to ride Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain, and if your 7-year-old is tall enough, you’ll get to ride Space Mountain. The Mad Tea party is always a kid-pleaser, and the Haunted Mansion is a fantastical way to see the ghosts of Disney World.

If you have more than one day to visit Disney World, I’d suggest Hollywood Studios as your 2nd park with a 7-year-old boy. There are more thrill rides and of course, Toy Story Mania. Plus, the Lights, Motors, Action!™ Extreme Stunt Show is any boys’ heaven on wheels. Also, Hollywood Studios is the only place where you can meet Buzz and Woody together at the same place.

My biggest suggestion is to buy the PassPorter’s Guide and plan out your days on vacation with your kids. You know what’s best for your kids and your family.
